Bernadette Peters

 

Bernadette (nee Lazzara) Peters is an American actor and singer. Through her long career, she has been featured on television, films as well as in musical theatre. She has also performed in solo concerts and recorded. She is a highly respected Broadway actor. She has won seven Tony Awards nominations (plus an honorary award) and nine Drama Desk Award nominations. Grammy Awards have been won through four of the Broadway productions where she has performed.



 



 Many consider Peters to be the best Stephen Sondheim interpreter. She is especially well-known for her performances on Broadway, such as in Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (1884), Song and Dance (1885), Into the Woods with George (1987), The Goodbye Girl (1993), Annie Get Your Gun (1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2010), Follies (2009), and Hello, Dolly (2018).
